WESTconsin Credit Union Celebrates National Cooperative Month

WESTERN, WI— Since 1948, National Cooperative Month has been celebrated around the country. As a financial cooperative, WESTconsin Credit Union will be honoring International Credit Union Day (ICUD) on Thursday, October 15. For every debit or credit card swipe made on ICU Day, WESTconsin will donate $0.10—up to $1,000—to the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition. This donation supports their mission to advocate for public policy, education, and research that improves the lives of those affected by breast cancer.

Annually, throughout the month of October, WESTconsin hosts the World’s Finest® Chocolate fundraiser benefitting Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) - Credit Unions for Kids. Proceeds will help children when they need it the most through the efforts of CMN hospitals, those in WESTconsin’s service region being Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul and Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse.

WESTconsin Credit Union invites members and the public to take part in these events as we continue to support our community and celebrate the cooperative spirit that credit unions are built on.

WESTconsin Credit Union has been serving members since 1939, and membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the Wisconsin counties of Barron, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, St. Croix, Sawyer, Taylor, Trempealeau, and Washburn, or the Minnesota counties of Anoka, Chisago, Dakota, Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Pine, Ramsey, Scott, Wabasha, and Washington, with a $5 minimum deposit in a Membership Savings Account. Credit unions are financial institutions owned by their accountholders, and member funds are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to at least $250,000.
