WESTconsin Credit Union Gives Back with The Mitten Tree Campaign
WESTERN, WI—WESTconsin Credit Union is wrapping others in warmth this holiday season with its 16th annual The Mitten Tree campaign. All WESTconsin offices will be collecting winter weather apparel items November 9–28 that will be used to decorate a tree in each lobby and then donated to a variety of community partners across the credit union’s service area. In 2025, more than 2,700 items were collected, along with $3,627 in monetary support.
To help families in need prepare for winter, acceptable items include new or handmade mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, earmuffs, coats, boots, and blankets and can be for all age groups. Monetary donations will also be accepted at all WESTconsin offices or over the phone. Local distribution of donated items will take place prior to the holidays.
WESTconsin Credit Union has been serving members since 1939, and membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the Wisconsin counties of Barron, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, St. Croix, Sawyer, Taylor, Trempealeau, and Washburn, or the Minnesota counties of Anoka, Chisago, Dakota, Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Pine, Ramsey, Scott, Wabasha, and Washington, with a $5 minimum deposit in a Membership Savings Account.
